Janet (“J”) Vecchia teaches Hatha yoga. J teaches students to remember Spirit, to live from Spirit and to keep coming home to Spirit. J reminds students that our capacity is fluid & changes each day & therefore, life calls us to honor our shifts & do the best we can each day.
Yoga is a practice that all bodies can do and enjoy regardless of age, body size and physical limitations/conditions.
Three things I want students to know about me:
1. I am accessible and approachable.
2. I am sensitive, compassionate and a good listener.
3. I know what it feels like to be in pain and feel stiff. I have suffered significant injuries from accidents in the past and I have benefited tremendously from the practices of yoga, pranayama (breath practices) & meditation to heal my injuries. In addition, I have completed several weeks of yoga therapeutic teacher trainings to assist students with injuries and pain.
Three things I want students to know about my classes:
1. Each class will provide you the opportunity to remember the Divine and awaken to the power of Spirit and the sacredness of life;
2. It is my intention to have each class be inspiring, reasonably challenging, safe and fun! My classes provide significant alignment instruction to teach students appropriate boundaries in order to safely and joyfully experience freedom in the poses.
3. I select themes for my classes that will be of value to students to apply in their lives to manifest more love, joy, peace, integrity, awareness and freedom.
My classes are a “heart-opening” practice on both a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Each class sets a theme for students to apply in their lives like: mindfulness, gratitude, integrity, honesty, joy, forgiveness, doing your best, etc… Each yoga class guides students to cultivate and deepen the expression of the spectrum of heart attributes, expand our capacity to live from the heart and to create and sustain more love in our lives.
Yoga is a mindfulness practice to remember that life is sacred and that we are all connected to each other. When we remember our connection to each other, it reminds us of the sacredness of relationship and the importance to honor all connections by extending love, respect, sensitivity and compassion to ourselves and others. The yoga will transform your life in that it helps you to remember Spirit, your innate strength, worthiness and goodness. This remembrance enables us to expand and embrace life to the fullest and to aspire to be the best we can be, both on and off the mat!
