My Mom is in the process of dying.  I am grateful to have a Mother who has lived her life as a beacon of divine light, love and infinite kindness.  It is a very tender time for me and my family.  It is also her birthday on December 22nd-she will be 90 years old-if she is still with us next week.  My Mom has been blessed to have lived a very full life and it is her desire to die.  She is at peace (as much as one can be) with her impending death.  For her, the contemplation is “how much longer will I live?” and wonderment that she is still alive.  Each day she mindfully practices “I will do the best I can today to stay peaceful, thankful and joyful and appreciate the gift of the day.”  In witnessing her courageous practice of this intention day after day, I realize that this intention is not only a powerful intention for one who is waiting to die but a life-affirming intention for each of us to live our lives!  Even in the midst of her dying, my beloved Mother is teaching me about living more fully from Spirit: how to gracefully appreciate each day, infuse each day with joy and prepare to die with Grace and serenity.  My Mom and I have decided that whether she is with us or with God on her birthday on December 22nd, that our family will gather and have a BIG cake to celebrate her life.

MAY YOU DO THE BEST YOU CAN TODAY TO STAY PEACEFUL,

THANKFUL & JOYFUL AND APPRECIATE THE GIFT OF THE DAY!
