Welcome to Autumn! This is one of my favorite times of year on the east coast. All aspects of the earth are beginning to shift & change as we head into another season. Have you noticed the coolness of the morning air, the sky growing dark earlier, the changes in nature as the earth shifts? A change in season invites us to remember that we are always changing, life is always changing and sometimes as we shift, we may stumble or fall down. That can be unsettling & scary for all of us! In our yoga practice, it reminds me of back bends, falling back. These can be challenging poses but they invite us to open our hearts & to practice trust. Trust in our own innate ability, wisdom & strength & trust in the energy of the Universe to hold & guide us. The more we practice (both on & off the mat), the more skillful & resilient we become.
May we all find the courage to allow ourselves to shift where life is inviting us to do so, to perhaps stumble & even fall & know that as a result, it will allow us to get to know ourselves better, open our hearts & deepen our capacity to feel our courage & compassion for ourselves & others.
