Cultivate Forgiveness to Experience Freedom
Workshop, Sunday March 9, 2014
1:30pm-4:00pm
When we do not forgive ourselves and/or others, we can become angry, fearful, distrusting and weaken our energy. Not forgiving can leave us feeling limited, burdened and powerless. In order to forgive, we must access the strength and courage of our Spirit. When we connect to Spirit and practice forgiveness, it manifests in more freedom-(“Swatantrya”- independent freedom in our heart and soul.) Forgiveness frees us from the bondage of pain & suffering. When we do the courageous work of forgiveness, we take back our spiritual power, increase our energy, root in love and free the heart and soul! Join J for a practice of standing poses, back bends and twists, pranayama (breath practices) & meditation to access our strength & courage to forgive so we can live with more freedom.
We will focus on the wisdom of Jack Kornfield, author of The Art of Forgiveness, Lovingkindness and Peace, Bantam Books, 2002 in the following excerpt and others: “Forgiveness Does Not Happen Quickly-For great injustice, coming to forgiveness may include a long process of grief, outrage, sadness, loss and pain. True forgiveness does not paper over what has happened in a superficial way. It is not a misguided effort to suppress or ignore our pain. It cannot be hurried. It is a deep process repeated over and over in our heart which honors the grief and betrayal, and in its own time ripens into the freedom to truly forgive.” J. Kornfield, The Art of Forgiveness.
